Marathon Health brochure design: The “Inspiring People” idea came out of extensive background conversations and a thorough conceptual exploration. It’s a valuable and insightful process, one that allows us to collaboratively explore ideas with our clients, get a better sense of their tastes and arrive at an idea everyone feels great about.

Marathon Health brochure design: Strong emotional words – unusual for healthcare marketing - serve as a powerful introduction to core ideas. The color palette also supports the idea, with warm, human colors. Hell, we even were able to make graphs look cool.

Marathon Health brochure design: This collateral design tells the stories of the three main people involved in the Marathon Health equation. Here, an employee/patient (true story) talks about taking pride in and responsibility for their own health.

Marathon Health brochure design: We talked to a few of Marathon’s caregivers, and you’ve never met a group of people who love their job more. Those real stories make our job easier – we just need to get out of their way and let the real emotions come through.

Marathon Health brochure design: Part of Marathon’s sales challenge is overcoming the hurdles of corporate HR departments, a group we learned tended to be pretty risk averse. The idea was to encourage them think differently and make bold choice with Marathon.

MARATHON HEALTH

It’s not every healthcare marketing client that wants to do something different. Much of the healthcare industry’s marketing and advertising looks exactly alike, with the same tired stock photography, messaging, colors, and more. Yawn.

So when we got a call from Marathon Health, based in Colchester, Vermont, we were determined to break the mold. Fortunately, we had a client with a different story to tell too.

Marathon Health is an on-site healthcare provider. Meaning they work where you work, keep you healthy while you’re on and off the job, coach you to a better lifestyle, and along the way, save your employer some serious cash. Marathon’s caregivers also clearly give a crap; they work with their patients every day and really get to know them and care about them.

When we did background interviews with the company’s leaders and employees, it was clear that they felt passionately about the lives they were able to change. These real, human stories felt different, and after we explored a few conceptual marketing campaign ideas, we settled on an idea called “Inspiring People.” The idea encompasses the dual tenets of Marathon Health: namely that they inspire people (their patients) and that they ARE inspiring people (caregivers).

Marathon Health embraced the idea immediately, and use it as the focal point of their healthcare marketing communications.
