North Country Animal League asked Methodikal to help them transform their branding to better reflect the Vermont nonprofit's larger mission and expanded programming, as well as to create a logo design and brand identity that was more unique and adaptable.
One important consideration was the name; while the full name would remain, we collaboratively determined that the acronym, NCAL, made more sense for most communications moving forward. "En-cal" was how their clients and the larger community referred to them anyway, and the shorter name leant itself to a more interesting and flexible design solution.
The new logo and brand identity features the silhouette of a happy pup in the negative space of the letter C, a nod to the symbiotic relationship and happiness that results from humans and pets coming together through NCAL's services. This approach also gave us the flexibility to feature other animals in NCAL's sub-brands, including a vibrant horse for their equine center and a playful kitten to represent their pet adoption center.
