Diane St. Clair makes butter. Not your average, land-o-lakes kind. No, Diane makes some of the best butter in the world. If you want some, you’ll need to head to a place like Per Se or the French Laundry – in other words, some of the finest restaurants in America. (If you need someone to join you, we’re available.) But when she wasn't busy making butter, she developed a fascination with perfumes and decided to try her hand at that craft, too.
When you run a small dairy operation, you’re connected to the land in a way that most people will never understand. And while it would be easy to make cheap manure jokes about the scents one might encounter on a farm, Diane is truly inspired by the olfactory experiences she has on a daily basis: The odors of grass and hay. The crisp smell of the farm in winter. The scent of world-weary leather from an old pair of gloves.
So, not being satisfied with being the best butter maker in America, she decided to launch her own perfume line too, and she asked Methodikal to pitch in. We helped her develop the name (she was originally reluctant to have it be an eponymous brand), logo, packaging design, and everything else she needed to get up and rolling. It’s sophisticated and simple and we love it.
