We love it when we get to work with entrepreneurs to turn a big idea into a real business – especially when we can help develop nearly every aspect of the brand. That’s exactly what we did with Warren, a new clothing brand that's “Inspired by New England. Designed in New England. Made in New England." But Warren's obsession with these six little states isn’t just some nostalgia trip. The goal is to be part of a revival of the area’s long-dormant textile industry - all to create jobs, support local communities, and create clothing in a more sustainable way.
After deep diving through a competitive brand audit, we dug into developing the brand name. One early idea was “Warren,” which as far as we could tell, is the only town name that appears in all six New England states. When we shared the idea with our client, Peter, he mentioned that he’d also considered Warren, because that was his grandfather’s name, who was a big part of Peter’s inspiration for starting the company. Once we made sure we could get the trademark and a good website url, Warren was the winner.
With a great foundation in place, we moved on to logo design and the brand identity system. The Warren logo evokes a herringbone pattern – a nod to craft and quality, and a timeless fashion classic. We did the packaging design – labels, hangtags, boxes, tissue, stickers, etc – to create a full branded impression when people receive their new duds. And we designed and built Warren's website using the Shopify platform.
Finally, collaborating with Peter, we created a full and immersive story for the brand. It’s true to New England’s heritage, but forward-looking and open, so anyone can feel at home wearing Warren, whether they live in New England or anywhere else in the world.
